AA7 Constructions is a Sydney-based building company specialising in home extensions, second storey additions, major renovations and structural alterations. Led by Director and licensed builder Andrew Akkari, we work with homeowners and architects across Sydney.
Most of our work is on existing homes, where the structure, the access, the services and the neighbours all shape how the job gets built. Getting the result right takes careful coordination, structural knowledge and attention to detail.

Andrew Akkari started his building career with an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Those years on the tools took him across residential and commercial construction, including homes, units, university accommodation and fire stations.
He later travelled around Australia building mining accommodation, remote homes in small country towns and modular homes built in factories and transported to site. That range of work shapes how he approaches a job today: plan the logistics first, understand the structure, then build.
With that experience behind him, Andrew founded AA7 Constructions in 2015, focused on extending and renovating existing Sydney homes.

The builder you meet is the builder on site
Andrew runs every AA7 project himself. You deal directly with the person responsible for your home, so decisions get made quickly and you're never chasing an update from someone who wasn't there.
Quality you can see, and quality you can't
The parts of your home you can't see matter as much as the finishes you can. Structure, waterproofing and services are built to the same standard as the joinery and the stone.
No surprises on cost
If the scope changes once work starts, you'll know what it costs and agree to the variation in writing before the work goes ahead. You won't reach the end of the job and find a bill for work you didn't know about.
Here long after handover
Six years of statutory warranty on major defects, two years for other defects, and a builder whose number doesn't change when the job finishes.
Tell us about your project. We'll come out, look at the site and give you a straight answer on what's possible.
Start the conversationAre you licensed and insured?
NSW Builder Licence 288792C. You can look it up yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register, along with any disciplinary history, and we'd encourage you to do that with any builder you're considering. Home Building Compensation cover is taken out on every eligible project, and those certificates are published on the NSW HBC register under our licence number. ABN 44 607 778 263.
What will my project cost?
Nobody can answer that honestly without seeing the site and the plans, and you should be wary of a number given over the phone. What we can tell you is how you'll find out. After the first visit, and once the plans are settled, you get a written cost proposal setting out what's included, what isn't, and how long it takes.
How much deposit do you take?
Under NSW law a builder can't ask for more than 10% of the contract price as a deposit, and we don't. The progress payments after that are set out in your contract before work starts, each one tied to a stage of the build. You'll know the full payment schedule before you sign anything.
Can I speak to people you've built for?
Yes. We'll put you in touch with past clients, and you should ask them the things that matter: did it finish on time, did it finish on budget, was he on site, and how did he handle it when something went wrong. You can also read reviews from past clients on our Google profile.
Will you work with my architect?
Yes, and we'd rather come in early than be handed a finished set of drawings. Getting involved while the design is still moving means anything expensive to build, or anything the existing structure won't take, gets raised while it's still a change on paper. We've worked alongside architects on everything from heritage terraces to family homes.
Where do you build?
Across Sydney, with most of our work in the Inner West. We also build through St George, the Eastern Suburbs, the North Shore and the Northern Beaches. If you're outside those areas, call anyway and we'll tell you straight away if we're the right builder for the job.
Do I need plans before I contact you?
No. If you've got plans we'll review them for buildability and cost. If you're starting from nothing, we'll introduce you to architects and designers we've worked with and you deal with them directly. Most people call us before anything is drawn, which is usually the right time.
